Every year during March, students of Naples get ecstatic as the Collier Fair makes its annual return. The Collier Fair offers entertainment, new twists on favorite foods and nauseatingly thrilling rides. The fair is an excellent way for students to spend their time and have a fun time doing so.

“Me and my friends always make plans to go to the fair because it’s a really fun way to spend our time and the rides are always so exciting,” freshman Faith Williamson said.

With admission being ten dollars and ride tickets a dollar and fifty cents each, the fair is an inexpensive pastime for students. The fair also offers megapasses for 35 dollars which provides unlimited rides all day and night.

“The fair is also really cool because you can get in for a small price and then buy tickets for as many rides as you want for a reasonable price, which is really important considering we’re high schoolers,” freshman Ashley Nurse said.

The Collier Fair is perhaps most known for the thrilling rides that they provide such as The Pendulum, The Zero Gravity, and of course one of the most iconic fair rides, the Ferris wheel. It also offers many traditional fair foods such as funnel cake and deep fried Oreos, as well as many lively games to take part in while taking a break from the rides.

“My favorite ride is probably the Ferris wheel because you’re able to get really high up and see a lot of Naples, and it’s nice to take a break from the more fast-paced rides,” Nurse said.

The 2023 Collier County Fair lasts from March 16 to March 26, however, the fair will be back next year from March 21 to March 31, so remember to mark calendars and make plans with loved ones or friends to visit this inexpensive and compelling event.

“The fair is definitely one of my favorite things to do in Naples since it adds a bit of excitement and thrills to our rather quiet city each year,” Williamson said. “It’s nice to know that the fair comes back every year because then I’ll always know I have something fun to do in March.”
