The Naples High Junior State of America took a trip to our nation’s capital for the annual Winter Congress convention.

Approved bills were heavily debated throughout the weekend with some of Naples High students taking the podium. Each bill was required to address a specific issue, reform the matter in question, and finally answer questions from other students around the country.

Senior Emily Hugan, was recognized with a best speaker award for her proposed bill on banning civil forfeitures.

“I felt overjoyed that i received best speaker,” Hugan stated. “I just let myself speak my mind and decide to engage with the rest of the chamber I was in.”
