Some students work at local retail stores such as Champs and West Marine. The Thanksgiving break isn’t all family time for some students, there are those who have a full day of work and deals to know about their specific stores and how to prepare.
“We have our Black Friday stock like winter clothes,” Breiner Zarate stated. “Every other company except Champs will be 50% off and Champs would be 70% off.”
There is another employee at Champs who knows more about the shoes.
“We are going to have a couple pairs of shoes depending on male and female sizes which would be around 25% off,” Champs employee Harold Ruberte stated. “We will also be opening an hour earlier and closing an hour later than the normal store hours.”
Breiner Zarate and Harold Ruberte seem to have their day planned out for Black Friday as they are both going to be working and are informed on the deals that are taking place in their stores.
“West Marine has been making sure all of the stock is put away and ready to be brought onto the floor and,” West Marine employee Blake Novak stated. “We have a lot of our tackle and boat care products going on sale as well.”
Since there are students working on Black Friday there are also many students shopping to find the best deals of the year.
“I am a high school student who works for my money and Black Friday is mainly the only time I can afford the things that I want,” Julia Marceau said. “I will be shopping at a bunch of stores in the mall, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and maybe Plato’s Closet.”
Many students at Naples High School work outside of school and need to be informed on their store deals for Black Friday. Even though school is out for the next week many students will be working their retail jobs.
