After working behind the scenes at Naples High for 16 years, custodian Miguel Ricardo has decided to hang up his hat and retire.

Ricardo said in an interview that the reason he stayed at Naples High for so long was for the student body and facility. He also explained that he had a good time here, made lots of friends and felt that the team he worked with was a great team.

“He is a great person, hard worker [and] he does whatever he can to support the school,” Lieutenant Colonel Paul Garrah said.

Garrah also explained why Ricardo was awarded the JROTC Certificate of Appreciation.

“In the military we look for people that have initiative and work hard, and he’s that kind of person,” Garrah said. “I think he’s done an awesome job […] we’re just proud of all the work he’s done.”
