The Naples High School 2023 Prom will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 7-10 p.m at Naples Hilton. Tickets are $70 each and will be available for purchase starting the week of April 17, with separate days designated for each grade level.

Doors will open at 6:50 p.m. and will close at 8. All students must have a picture ID in order to be admitted. Self-parking will not be allowed, as this is a valet-only event with tips included in the ticket price. All school rules will be in effect and must be followed. To purchase a ticket, students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Those who have any outstanding obligations or have served OSS this year will not be able to attend the dance.

The theme for this year’s prom is “Viva Las Vegas,” featuring Vegas-style decor and backdrops. The Student Government Association (SGA) is involved in preparing the venue with various designs to match the theme.

“We are going to have bright lights and different photo opportunities like card-cut outs of different suits like the king of hearts,” SGA member Cole Perkins said. “On the ceiling, we plan to hang stars, and in different areas we will have large Vegas-famous signs.”

Tickets will include a buffet area serving a variety of food options, with an assortment of small plates, fruit and a dessert bar. A portal in Canvas will open in the coming weeks for those who will purchase a ticket, allowing for music recommendations to be placed.

“We plan on providing a buffet area with a bunch of different food choices like antipasto, grilled vegetables, sliders, quesadillas, buffalo chicken egg rolls, tomato caprese skewers, assorted sandwiches, fruits and cheese and a sundae with lots of toppings,” Perkins said. “We will also have a DJ, of course.”

As seniors are planning their last prom at NHS, many are hoping the event will see some improvements from last year, making it a memorable part of their soon-to-end high school time.

“I am most looking forward to dancing and seeing if the music is better than last time,” senior Adria Morales said. “Also, I think the food might be better.”

With the event only a few weeks away, event planners stress the importance of making preparations now to ensure that proper attire is ready on time. David’s Bridal, Macy’s, Dillard’s and Waterside Shops are popular locations for dress shopping. Men’s Wearhouse tuxedo rentals can be ordered on Tuesday, April 18 during lunch on ticket sale day.

As juniors and seniors are planning for a night that is sure to be one of the hallmarks of the high school experience, preparations by SGA are underway to make the event an exciting and enjoyable time for all. For more information, students should check their Canvas inbox for regular updates and details.
