Several Naples High School student-athletes have recently committed to continue playing sports at the collegiate level.

Hugh Wilkinson has committed to play soccer at Flagler College.

“It’s in a great location downtown St. Augustine, near the beach, and it’s not too far from home,” Wilkinson said. “It’s a team I can see myself being a part of and all around just a great vibe.”

Doug Belanger committed to play baseball at Malone University.

“I have a lot of family up there that only live about an hour from the school,”  Belanger said.

Juan Cruz committed to wrestle at the University of Dubuque.

“My wrestling coaches wanted me to try to wrestling in college,” Cruz said. “Dubuque offers me a chance to wrestle for a living.”

Nicole Suarez committed to play volleyball at Arcadia University.

“I chose Arcadia because it had a family orientated team who also work very hard and motivate each other,” Suarez said. “This school also provided me with financial aid, and being a private school that helped a ton.”

Ivan Zamora committed to play baseball at Malone University.

“It’s a great school and it’s got a great baseball program,” Zamora said.  

Yerye Vargas has committed to play soccer at Thomas University.

“I committed to Thomas because of the campus,” Vargas said. “It’s a nice small campus, and a very quiet place.”
