Senior game bibs are here. They’re the newest tradition that is sure to bring out spirit at Naples High School. Striped with blue and yellow, the overalls are a fashionable way to show spirit, according to seniors.

Starting this year, seniors can rent game bibs and return them at the end of the school year for the next class of spirited students by contacting Mrs. Perez.

The overalls are to be worn on Friday game days, to athletic events, and pep rallies. Game bib rentals are still available, but they’re going fast.

“The game bibs go on seniors’ obligation lists like a textbook,” senior Abbey Diers said. “You can rent one at the beginning of the year and if you return it damaged, you have to pay $60.”

The idea was brought up by senior and SGA public affairs officer, Fallon Jones. She got the idea from a friend whose high school had the tradition of giving colored overalls to seniors. Fallon expressed her satisfaction on the amount of game bibs sold, and how they’re affecting senior school spirit.

“We distributed over 100 game bibs,” Jones said. “I’ve noticed how much seniors enjoy them and how spirited they make everyone feel.”

Some seniors feel special to be the beginning year of the game bib tradition.

“I’m happy that my class is able to start this fun tradition,” senior and game bib lover Kenzie Giblin said. “The game bibs really support spirit for our senior class.”

Many seniors sported their blue and yellow game bibs on Friday for homecoming week (spirit day), and to the homecoming game that night.

“I think this is the best spirit week we’ve had,” senior Abbey Diers said. “It makes the senior student section look great.”

So if you’re a senior, enjoy your game bib or buy one quick. As for the underclassmen, look forward to your senior year full of spirit.
