Three Naples High School seniors signed their letter of intent on Friday, April 29 to pursue their academic and athletic careers in college due to their outstanding athletic performance in high school.

Giancarlo DiGiacomo committed to playing baseball at Palm Beach State College. His parents and his relationship with his religion is what he claims has helped him reach this point. NHS has also given DiGiacomo the ability to learn and progress athletically.

“Naples High has shaped me for success by gaining deeper knowledge and understanding,” DiGiacomo said. “Also, by developing critical thinking skills which I can apply to situations in life.”

Palm Beach State College’s baseball team competes in NJCAA division in the Southern Conference Region 8 conference. Competing in this division allows DiGiacomo to make a name for himself and gain recognition from other schools and related ventures he can apply himself to.

“I decided to commit to my school because of the opportunity given to me,” DiGiacomo said.

Molly Richards committed to play volleyball and basketball at Mount Aloysius. She credits her success to the friendly and constructive environment of NHS. Choosing Mount Aloysius to commit to was easy for her because of how welcoming they were to her and her family.

“NHS coaches and students have helped shape me and prepare me, especially my dad, who was also my high school coach for the last two years,” Richards said. “I was always pushed to be the best that I can be.”

Mount Aloysius’s volleyball and basketball teams compete in NCAA division three athletic division.

“I hope to continue to get better and leave a name for myself and just work hard everyday to make something of myself that I’m proud of,” Richards said.

Hector Guevera committed to play soccer at Wittenberg University. Although he committed for athletics, he is going to seize the opportunity and work on his academic career, as well as focus on getting a successful job.

“The hope that I have for my future school is to get a successful job,” Guevara said. “Expanding my knowledge will help me discover the path towards my interests and motivate myself to become the best version of myself.”

Wittenberg University’s soccer team competes in the NCAA division three athletic division.

“To prepare myself to take my athletics to the next level, I have been training every day, having my nutrition to the 100% and working on my grades,” Guevara said.
