Biden traveled to Brownsville, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley on February 29th, an area that often sees large numbers of border crossings. He met border agents and discussed the need for bipartisan legislation. It was his second visit to the border as president. He traveled to El Paso in January last year.

The Border Patrol Union ridiculed President Biden’s planned visit to the border this week as a cynical ploy to save his presidency at the expense of Americans’ safety. In a statement received by Fox News Digital, the union said, “There would be no point in visiting the border now if the president’s assertions that he has done everything he can to secure the border were true.”

Biden’s border visit is exclusively to preserve his presidency. This administration made border security about politics and that should never be the case. Border security should always be about the safety of the American people and the security of this great nation.

The current U.S. policy allows migrants to seek asylum, regardless of how they arrived. This has led to an unprecedented surge of immigrants crossing the border. The immigration system is overwhelmed, and the number of migrants arriving at the U.S-Mexico border has far surpassed its capacity. As a result, President Biden’s administration has allowed over 2.4 million migrants to enter the country.

This planned visit to the border is too little, too late under an administration that is more interested in politics than the safety of the great American people.
