Girls soccer struggling through injuries

The NHS girls soccer team has lost five of their starters from last year’s team, and has had to adapt to the season. The team is also struggling with injuries, holding them back from full potential.

“We are working on moving people into new positions and changing our lineup based on our new starters,” Katie Vickaryous said.

Although this year’s team is new, everyone is working together and putting in the work to go to districts.

“We’re getting better everyday, that’s kind of our mantra right now is to be better,” head coach Adam Weikel. “We’re going to keep fighting for growth in the team and by the end of the year I think we’re going to be ready to challenge for the district championship.”

The team’s record is 3-4-2 currently and will play Immokalee Thursday night.
