Notre Dame Cathedral is a very famous religious icon in Paris, France that has just recently burned down in a tragic fire. Aired on the news for the whole world to see, many students expressed their sorrow for the loss of this icon.

“When I heard the news I was very sad and confused on how this could happen,” sophomore Joey Kennedy stated.

Many students had wished they’d been able to visit before its destruction, although they are planning on rebuilding it, it’s hard to say if it will ever be the same.

Construction plans vary and there is not a definite plan of how that’s going to happen, but many believe that no matter what it will just never be its original self again.

“I don’t think it will ever be the same, it will be close to the same but never truly original because things will definitely be changed in the future,” sophomore Henry Yun said.

There are many efforts being made to help support the reconstruction of the cathedral. Fundraisers are the main one, the charities have already collected about a billion in donations according to Washington Post.

“They could do a fundraiser to make money for the rebuilding of it,” junior Alyson Griffin.

This beautiful icon will forever be remembered and cherished no matter what. The Notre Dame stood for 856 years, through war and through destruction and held many works of art and historical items. It will continue to be a religious hotspot through all of this madness and forever hold a special place in manys hearts.
