The Interact Club at Naples High School is a club where students get a chance to participate at different volunteering events across Collier County. The club is working with the Salvation Army to help encourage students to volunteer as a bell ringer.

As a bell ringer, the club helps raise money to feed the military and those less fortunate for the holidays. For every two hours spent manning a kettle, the club raises $60.

The Salvation Army is a nationwide non-profit organization that helps those in need. Every year, they host the Red Kettle Campaign.

“You can get a great amount of hours from volunteering,’’ Mr. Stewart, the Interact Club sponsor who organizes all the events said. “You can ring on Christmas time, that’s when they raise most of the money for the year.”

Participating in the annual bell ringing is a good opportunity for students to give back to the community, and to rack up much needed volunteer hours.
