Tortuga Music Festival is returning to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park next weekend from April 12-14. The festival is completely centered around country music and takes place right on the beach.

The show includes headliners such as Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, the Zac Brown Band and Florida Georgia Line.

This is the seventh year that Tortuga is occurring and students from Naples High are ready to take on the festival.

“I’ve gotten three different bathing suits, one for each day because it’s on the beach,” senior Ava Graziano said.

Students also talked about their festival essentials for the country music fest.

“Cowboy boots are definitely an essential,” senior Annika Church said.

Besides from the outfit essentials, there are many other important things to remember to bring.

“A portable charger is my main essential because you can’t let your phone die at a festival,” senior Carole Ann Desormeau said.

Also, hydration is key due to the fact that it does take place on the beach.

“My festival essentials are water, water, and more water,” said senior Faith Tronnier.

Another tip that most students agreed with was that you NEED to bring sunscreen.

“I literally bought sunscreen in bulk from Costco so I won’t get burnt,” Annika Church stated.

It is also really important to keep all belongings safe.

“It’s a really good idea to have a fanny pack to keep all your stuff in,” Carole Ann Desormeau said.

A lot goes into getting ready for a festival, but everyone is still ready to have a good time and listen to live country music!
